"Awakening"
Written By Trey Sherrod
I almost quit streaming... Almost.
There was a point where I was streaming and nearly lost hope for what I wanted to become a great passion of mine. I wasn't worried about viewership or subs, I just wanted to game and share experiences with people that I have seen go from viewers to some of my closest friends online.
I found an interest in growth and the marketing side of gaming and content creation. I started to learn strategies and watch the ever changing cycle of trends in the community.
I was consumed, to say the least.
Seeing these practices being put to place motivated me to grow not only my stream, but my own personal well-being. It showed me that people love to watch their favorite streamers because they got to know the person they were watching through what was, oddly enough, shared experiences in not just gaming but a complete look into their lives. Gaming is a way for a lot of people to get away from the outside world and streaming is essentially letting complete strangers into that zone.
Streaming is not only cool clips and funny moments, it's letting people get to know you as a person and letting them see your world. After all, gaming is a way for anyone to transport themselves to another realm, so to speak.
Basically, understanding this one idea that streaming isn't just about the cool plays has transformed the entire drive to progress for me in the best way possible.
I'm beginning to learn multiple skills in order to grow what could essentially become a bran without washing it of all personality and individuality. I'm using tools to market my content without diluting my own place in the community. I'm beginning to realize what I have to offer with my content. I am finding out what I relate with and have interests in and it feels as if I transitioned into a new stage of my life without even knowing it. I shall call this chapter, "Awakening".
